Cartoon Transcript:
Maria sits at her desk. Behind her is a countdown calendar that says,"20 days until we go broke." Her coworker, Brad, comes in and stands at her desk.
Brad: "Maria, I need your help on question 287b. What is our AARGH number?"
Maria: "That's the number the state will give us once they receive this application."
Brad: "But it says it's required. This form makes no sense, I give up!"
Maria: standing up and putting out her hands, "No Brad - No! You're our last hope. We need this grant."
Brad: "No one could fill out this form."
Then, the next frame shows a man in a suit with a cape and a brief case. He flys in and announces, "Stand up and cheer, Administrative Man is here! With my Superpower of Bureaucratic Vision I can fill out the form and save your organization from imminent collapse." Administrative Man opens his brief case and gets down to business, pulling out a form and saying, "But first I need some intake information: What is your annual budget? How many board members do you have? How would you categorize the overall mission of your organization?" The rapid-fire list of questions gets smaller and smaller until it disappears out of the strip. The End. Created and drawn by Miriam Engelberg and respectfully transcribed by Colleen Shelly.
