Cartoon Transcript:
Panel 1: Living on the Paris Left Bank, Ernest hangs out at cafes with other expatriate writers. Shows writer in beret at cafe, saying "My novel is set in Tangiers." Ernest says, "My mission statement is set in a social service agency."
Panel 2: Outwardly confident, he secretly struggles with paralyzing mission writer's block.
Shows Ernest sitting at table trying to write: "'Our mission is to... is to...' Noooo -- I can't do it!"
Panel 3: All is saved when Ernest meets his muse.
Shows Ernest at restaurant. Waitperson says: "Hi -- I'm Marcy. I'll be your server this evening." Ernest says, "That's it! 'Our mission is to serve!' Will you marry me?"
