CompassPoint and The CBO Center are stronger together

The CBO Center and CompassPoint have exciting news to share with you. As of January 1, 2010, we have merged organizations to serve Alameda and Contra Costa counties better.

Liz Callahan, executive director of The CBO Center, reached out to CompassPoint well over a year ago to talk about a long-term strategy for providing strong, sustainable regional services to meet the needs of East Bay nonprofits. Out of those conversations, the organizations have formed a strategic alliance to broaden and deepen services for community-based organizations in Alameda and Contra Costa counties.

Liz says, “When we established The CBO Center in 2003, we wanted East Bay nonprofits to feel like they had a strong local resource to whom they could turn for support. We’re still committed to that vision and now we’re bringing it to scale. CompassPoint is the right partner to make that bigger vision a reality.”

“Joining with The CBO Center is the best way for us to broaden and deepen our services for the region,” says Jeanne Bell, chief executive officer of CompassPoint. “We are excited by the partnership and pleased to be working together to create a regional alliance to serve nonprofits throughout the Bay Area.”
