Overview: Citi Executive Director Leadership Program

“The Citi Executive Director Leadership Program is one of the most comprehensive, challenging, and fun programs that I have participated in. The information is timely and relevant, the instructors knowledgeable and engaging. By sharing best practices and ideas with my fellow nonprofit leaders, we can help each other learn and develop. I have already learned skills and developed ideas that I can immediately integrate into the leadership of my organization.”– Greg Young, Bay Area Leadership Foundation

Program Overview

Strategic Leadership and Best Practices in Nonprofit Management
The program kicks-off with a three-day course, led by CompassPoint staff experts. It will provide executive directors with the management skills they need to successfully address the key challenges facing nonprofits. Participants will learn new concepts, skills, best practices, and strategies, and gain understanding about six key areas of nonprofit management: Leadership, Governance, Strategy, Finance, Fundraising, and Human Resources.

Facilitated Peer Learning Circles
Upon completion of Strategic Leadership and Best Practices in Nonprofit Management, participants will participate in six facilitated peer coaching circles. These facilitated discussions will incorporate peer coaching, mentoring, support, resources, and relationship building. Every three weeks, a trained, experienced facilitator will convene the group and help participants use the peer learning circle framework to 1) identify goals and resolve individual challenges 2) share insights and materials, 3) support and challenge each other, and 4) keep action plans on track.
