Boards & Governance
CompassPoint’s boards and governance courses provide executives and board members with the foundational concepts necessary for successful nonprofit boards, while also introducing new thinking on how best to generate powerful board-staff partnerships in the pursuit of organizational impact. Our courses address some of the most pressing challenges to executives and board members, including strategic recruitment of new members and engaging boards in fundraising. We use online learning in this series to be especially accessible to busy executives and to board members whose day jobs make accessing professional development a challenge.
Faculty include Marla Cornelius, Liz Callahan, and Marissa Tirona, leaders of CompassPoint’s work on emerging governance practice, and Jan Masaoka, nationally recognized boards expert and Editor-in-Chief of Blue Avocado—a free online magazine that includes Jan’s popular column, Board Café. You can find the Board Café archives here.
