Greater access strength ens us all!\n \n  \;\n \n For more information about our public program pricing\, click here.\n \n \n When it comes to fundraising\, it&rsquo\;s e asy to feel stuck. Why do we feel like we can&rsqu o\;t disrupt old habits even when we know they lea ve us (and our communities) feeling isolated\, dep leted\, and as if we&rsquo\;re only engaging in ex tractive and transactional ways?\n \n  \;\n \n The practice of fundraising is going through a re ckoning\, and the way we envision the role of fund raisers is changing. Many fundraising models and & ldquo\;best practices&rdquo\; center on the idea t hat wealthy donors are the heroes of the story. Wh at would resourcing our missions look like if we w ere more like resource mobilizers deepening the ci vic and political journeys of all of our supporter s instead? Resource Mobilizers are people who faci litate the flow of both financial and non-financia l resources. Resource Mobilizers are not limited t o executive directors\, development directors\, or other nonprofit staff\; they also include unpaid organizers\, neighborhood leaders\, and volunteers .*\n \n  \;\n \n In this three-session trainin g\, we invite fundraisers\, leaders\, organizers\, and volunteers (new and seasoned alike) to imagin e their roles more expansively and embrace approac hes to mobilizing resources that build and amplify community power.\n \n  \;\n \n *Resource Mobi lizer definition created by the Resource Mobilizer Collaborative.\n \n  \;\n \n Who is this trai ning for?\n \n  \;\n \n This training is for l eaders of organizations who want to explore moving from fundraiser to resource mobilizer. Some found ational knowledge in fundraising may be helpful be fore joining\, but we invite anyone playing a role in resourcing social change efforts to learn with us! This training might not be a good fit for fun draisers solely focused on tips and tactics for ra ising the largest dollar amount possible. Instead\ , we'\;ll spend our time exploring how we can l iberate the work we do to generate resources in wa ys that are more sustainable and build community p ower.\n \n  \;\n \n In this three-part series\ , you will:\n \n \n Reimagine the role of &ldquo\ ;fundraiser&rdquo\;&mdash\; from being reactive to and transactional with donors to being expansive\ , creative\, and rooted in community.\n Understan d key fundraising terms and principles through the lens of resource mobilization.\n Practice donor cultivation in ways that tap into community values \, connect supporters to larger movements\, and bu ild community power.\n Reflect on your role as fu ndraiser\, identify practices you want to leave be hind and what new approaches you&rsquo\;ll grow as a resource mobilizer.\n \n \n Get ready to partic ipate!\n \n Our trainings come alive with your par ticipation and willingness to engage. Please be re ady to participate in group discussions and share your experience\, creativity\, questions\, and cha llenges with us. We&rsquo\;ll share visual and ver bal information\, make time for paired practice\, play games\, watch short videos\, draw\, and make time to reflect.\n \n This is a multi-day offering . Please make sure you can attend all dates before registering and that you are familiar with our ca ncellation policy.\n \n Accessibility is very impo rtant to us! Closed captioning will be provided. I f you require specific accommodations (for example \, receiving screen reader-friendly versions of le arning materials ahead of time)\, please notify us at workshops@compasspoint.org two weeks in advanc e of the scheduled offering so that we can do our best to meet your needs.
