No doubt\, those ideas have been deeply sh aped by power dynamics and wider cultural narrativ es we&rsquo\;re all swimming in. \;\n \n Super vision is both a structure and a relational practi ce that keeps us accountable to others and helps u s grow. Many of us have been conditioned to think that supervision means having power over others in stead of building power with others--but when we s upervise in a way that breaks with narratives from the dominant white supremacist culture\, we open the door to mutual flourishing.\n \n Who is this t raining for?\n \n This is a space for participants who are Black\, Indigenous\, and People of Color\ n \n  \;\n \n We hope that these trainings wil l invite BIPOC leaders to build power by building community\, share more honestly about the challeng es they face\, and deepen their learning by sharin g time and space with their peers. For white parti cipants\, we ask that you respect the intention of this space by registering for versions of these o fferings that don&rsquo\;t have BIPOC-only in the title: www.compasspoint.org/workshops.\n \n  \ ;\n \n As leaders in nonprofit organizations\, we& rsquo\;re often tasked with supervising others\, b ut rarely given time and space to explore how we w ant to show up in these relationships and what we should really focus on. This training is most rele vant for leaders in nonprofits and social justice movement spaces who are responsible for supervisin g others. Leaders who are new supervisors (in part icular) will find this training useful--although w e also invite folks who want to deepen their under standing\, or even reimagine their approach to sup ervision as well.\n \n In this online workshop\, y ou will:\n \n \n Recognize how liberatory and tra nsformational commitments and practices can be an antidote to white supremacy\, patriarchy\, and cap italism within supervision\n Identify how the fou r types of power intersect with supervision\n Gai n skills (setting expectations and sharing feedbac k) to incorporate into your supervision practices\ n \n \n Explore CompassPoint blogs related to this training:\n \n \n Supervising in a Crisis: Slowi ng Down and Focusing on Relationships by Hana Lee\ n Grappling with Feedback: Lessons in Trying\, Failing\, and Trying Again by Learkana Chong\n \n \n Get ready to participate!\n \n \n Our training s come alive with your participation and willingne ss to engage.
