DESCRIPTION:This is a live\, online event where you&rsquo\;ll
 participate actively with other attendees!&nbsp\;\
n \n Registration for this training is offered on
a sliding scale depending on your individual and o
rganizational access to financial resources. Our s

e resources equitably between organizations and in

about our public program pricing\, click here.\n
 \n &nbsp\;\n \n \n Meetings! We&rsquo\;ve all expe
rienced what it&rsquo\;s like when they go wrong:
conversations that go nowhere and leave people fee
ling frustrated. Additionally\, our approach to pl
anning meetings doesn&#39\;t always take into cons
ideration how race\, gender\, power and privilege
show up in our teams--and so these spaces often re
plicate the very types of power dynamics we should
be trying to dismantle in the world around us.\n
\n This online workshop is a space to learn effect
ive meeting habits\, develop skills to plan a meet
ing\, explore how to wield power to unlock everyon
e&rsquo\;s gifts and contributions\, get the right
voices in the room\, and guide conversations towa
 rd meaningful goals.\n \n &nbsp\;\n \n Who is this
training for?\n \n This is a space for participan
ts who are Black\, Indigenous\, and People of Colo
r\n \n We hope that these trainings will invite BI
POC leaders to build power by building community\,
share more honestly about the challenges they fac
e\, and deepen their learning by sharing time and
space with their peers. For white participants\, w
e ask that you respect the intention of this space
by registering for versions of these offerings th
at don&rsquo\;t have BIPOC-only in the title: www.
 compasspoint.org/workshops.\n \n \n This is a spac
e for people who work at nonprofit organizations a
nd/or in social justice movement spaces\, and who
want to explore practical skills to strengthen the
ir approach to guiding teams through meetings. If
you are frequently tasked with (or are just steppi
ng into) facilitating groups in nonprofits or move
 ment spaces\, come learn with us!\n \n &nbsp\;\n \
