Nonprofits are a huge part of California’s economy in addition to being the main social safety net, the main source of education, art and culture, and environmental protection and preservation. Tax cuts have really affected our ability to do our job and impacting the communities we serve - we need to speak up. To do that, we need to understand California’s tax and budget structure and the various reforms that are being proposed to fix it. By working cross sector instead of issue by issue, we can exercise our aggregate clout with lawmakers and at the ballot box to create a state which reflects the values of the common good.
