Lupe Poblano, MS, joined CompassPoint in July of 2014 as a Project Director. Most recently Lupe served as the Director of Evaluation, Learning, and Strategy at Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco. In his nine years with Habitat, Lupe served in many leadership roles, such as Director of Finance and Administration, Director of Integration for the merger between two bay area Habitat affiliates, and Interim Director of Programs. During his time with Habitat, the organization grew from a budget of $800,000 with five full-time employees, to almost $13 million with 40+ full-time employees. He also wrote the business plan for and spearheaded a social entrepreneurship venture with Habitat that grossed more than $1.8M in its first 20 months of existence.

After graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in sociology, Lupe worked with the First District Appellant Project, a San Francisco nonprofit law firm that works to ensure quality representation of indigent appellants in criminal, juvenile, dependency and mental health appeals. Lupe has served as a board member of the Young Nonprofit Professional Network, Bay Area chapter, and as one of the founding members of the Advisory Council for Brothers on the Rise. He completed his Masters degree in Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco's School of Management in 2013.

Using the StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment tool, this course is for those interested in learning how to identify and leverage personal strengths to be more productive, energized, and satisfied at work. Participants will explore how managers can use a strengths based approach in supervision to maximize staff motivation and productivity while strengthening interpersonal relationships. We will also introduce a tool for how to use strengths when developing and working with teams. Finally, we’ll strategize about weaknesses and discuss ways to ensure they do not get in the way of excellent performance.

ALL participants must complete  the StrengthsFinder assessment prior to the class - you will receive a code to access the assessment online.
