About Aiano

[Pronouns: she / they ]

As a member of our teacher team, Aiano co-facilitates offerings in our public training program, focusing on Facilitation Skills: Creating Powerful and Purposeful Meetings; Manage Your Energy, Reclaim Your Time: A Path to Personal Sustainability; and Conflict Resolution with Power and Privilege in Mind (for BIPOC Leaders).

Aiano is a dance artist/performer, educator, and queer art events producer in the Bay Area. Aiano holds an M.A. in Women, Gender, Spirituality, and Social Justice from the California Institute of Integral Studies and integrates her academic background and lived experience into her work and teaching.

Outside of her work at CompassPoint, Aiano also creates and facilitates somatic-based movement workshops and dance classes designed to assist people in the recovery of their body-based wisdom and power. She is also a co-producer for the Bay Area Queering Dance Festival and a founding/core member of the queer Asian art collective, A.B.G. Aiano believes that as we dismantle old systems and establish new, life-affirming ways of existing, we must re-inhabit our bodies in ways that connect us to our personal and collective power.

Aiano’s background in the nonprofit sector gives them a firsthand understanding of how the nonprofit industrial complex operates. They feel passionate about doing the work within these spaces to address cycles of harm, burnout, and white supremacist cultural norms within the workplace.
