Self-Care for Black Folks Series

Self-Care for Black Folks Series

SELF-CARE FOR BLACK FOLKS SERIES

You're invited to join a learning series for Black folks looking to build knowledge, practices, and skills around self-care, creating a culture of care at your organization, and developing a stance of community care in service of our collective liberation.

This series is for leaders at every level, as self-care is an essential part of social justice work. Navigating and dismantling white supremacy at the interpersonal, organizational, and structural levels requires rigorous joy, replenishment, connection, and community building!

  • If you are interested in building daily self-care practices, drawn from ancestral wisdom, join us!

  • If you are interested in building a culture of self-care at your organization, join us!

  • If you are interested in building a stance of community care and mutual aid with your collaborators and community, join us!

This new learning experience expands on work from the past six cohorts of Self-Care for Black Women in Leadership, however, this learning series is open to participants of all genders!

It includes three online workshops (focused on individual self-care, self-care within an organizational context, and the importance of community care and mutual aid), one online panel discussion, and one in-person community-building event to be held in the Bay Area, California.

Make the most of your learning by joining all events, or just join the ones that match your time, energy, and interest.

We'll make space for truth-telling and personal stories, explore personal and organizational barriers to rest and self-care (and what to do about them!), dialogue about the importance of community care and mutual aid in Black liberation, learn from practitioners of different self-care modalities, and build community.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Over the course of this learning series you'll:
