Conflict Resolution With Power and Privilege in Mind
This is a two-part online event (see dates at right). We will send login information two days before the event, so please make sure you enter your email correctly.
Registration for this event is offered on a sliding scale. If your personal or organizational budget allows you to, please consider paying the full fee so we can keep registration accessible for leaders and organizations who may not be in the same position. Greater access strengthens us all!
Conflict isn’t a matter of “if", it’s a matter of “when.” Most of us spend our time avoiding conflict, forgetting that on the other side of tension we can often find transformation.
When we get into conflict with each other (at our organizations or in movement spaces), we often do so without the benefit of having had time and space beforehand to slow down and explore our own relationship to conflict: what drives our reactions and how conflict relates to dynamics of power and privilege. This workshop is a space to develop a mindset and set of practices that can help you show up to conflict with integrity, curiosity, and a willingness to be empathetic.
In this online workshop, you will:
Explore different approaches to conflict resolution to learn more about your own approach.
Examine how your own identity, culture, and relationship to power influence how you approach conflict.
Practice essential skills like deeper listening for deeper empathy.
Develop a personal set of principles for dealing with conflict that reflects your values.
This is a space for people who work at nonprofit organizations and / or in social justice movement spaces who want to explore approaches to conflict resolution and develop an approach that reflects their values.
Please make sure you can attend both dates before registering!
Please note: We can only provide a refund if you cancel five days before the first session. See our cancellation policy here.
