Manage Your Energy, Reclaim Your Time: A Path to Personal Sustainability
This is a live, online event where you’ll participate actively with facilitators and other participants! We will send login information two days before the event, so please make sure you enter your email correctly when you register. In order to build community and protect confidentiality, we do not record our workshops. If you miss a training date, we cannot provide you with a recording of the training.
Registration for this training is offered on a sliding scale. If your personal or organizational budget allows you to, please pay the full fee so we can keep registration accessible for leaders and organizations who may not be in the same position. Greater access strengthens us all!
When we manage our time and energy solely through the capitalist value of “productivity over people”, we often are unable to tend to our whole selves and practice the self-care habits that may sustain us for the long haul.
Showing up to nonprofit and social justice work requires us to move with purpose and cultivate a culture of personal sustainability. Managing our energy to reclaim our time means understanding that our personal sustainability is directly related to our daily self-care practices.
Who is this training for?
This is a space for people who work in nonprofit organizations and / or in social justice movement spaces who want to explore what it means to manage their time and energy differently in the context of social change work.
In this online workshop, you will:
- Identify obstacles—internal, interpersonal, and institutional—that are hindering personal sustainability
- Learn a framework for energy management that includes the four core energy needs: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual
- Learn new perspectives, strategies, and practices for self-care by understanding how to manage your energy and time differently
Get ready to participate!
Our trainings come alive with your participation and willingness to engage. Please be ready to participate in small and large group discussions and share your experience, creativity, questions, and challenges with us. For example, we will ask you to do an energy self-assessment and brainstorm energy management strategies and practices together. We'll share visual and verbal information, make time for group discussions, and create other opportunities for real-time participation.
This is a multi-day event. Please make sure you can attend all dates before registering! Before registering, make sure you are familiar with our cancellation policy.
Accessibility is very important to us! Closed captioning will be provided. If you require specific accommodations (for example, receiving screen-reader friendly versions of learning materials ahead of time), please notify us at least one week in advance of the scheduled offering by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org) so that we can do our best to meet your needs. ASL interpretation is not provided unless requested.
