THE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR MANAGERS AND EXECUTIVES SERVING TRANSITION-AGE YOUTH

This leadership program was developed in 2005 by CompassPoint with funding from The California Wellness Foundation (TCWF) to address the changing needs of leadership professionals serving transition-age youth (TAY).

To date, this program has served over ninety transition-age youth professionals throughout the state of California.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

A cohort of 12 leaders meets over a period of 12 months to learn together through in-person gatherings, webinars, a 360-degree leadership assessment process, peer coaching, and networking opportunities with other transition-age-youth-serving professionals.

Through the course of the program, participants experience the following:

  • They increase their self-awareness around their personal leadership stance and practices.
  • They create a personal leadership development plan and receive support from faculty and each other to reach their goals.
  • They draw strength and support from their peers.
  • They explore and strategize around leadership challenges specific to working in the transition-age-youth field.
  • They learn coaching skills to help themselves and others move forward to new solutions.
  • They build connections and relationships to support a growing and sustainable network in the California transition-age-youth field.
