This is a live, online event where you’ll participate actively with facilitators and other participants! We will send login information two days before the event, so please make sure you enter your email correctly when you register. In order to build community and protect confidentiality, we do not record our workshops. If you miss a training date, we cannot provide you with a recording of the training.

Registration for this training is offered on a sliding scale. If your personal or organizational budget allows you to, please pay the full fee so we can keep registration accessible for leaders and organizations who may not be in the same position. Greater access strengthens us all!

Why Coaching? Coaching helps put into practice the idea that the people closest to the problem have the solutions. When we coach each other, we center self-determination, create space for accountability, and unlock each other’s gifts.

Who is this training for?

This is a space for people who work at nonprofit organizations and / or in social justice movement spaces who want to learn and practice basic coaching skills. This offering is not limited to positional leaders, but can be especially helpful if you’re a manager or supervisor. If you’re responsible for the growth and development of others on your team, you’ll likely find coaching skills and mindsets valuable. If you’re a leader in your organization or community helping others to reflect, grow, and tap into their own internal resources and strengths, come learn and practice coaching skills with us!

Please note: This is a four-part series. Check dates carefully before you commit to make sure you can attend all four parts.

In this four-part series, you will:

  1. Learn what coaching is and how it can help you build power with others instead of over others.

  2. Ground in the “coaching mindset”

  3. Learn three key coaching skills you can use as a supervisor or manager

  4. Learn how to apply a coaching framework when people are stuck and need to move to action

  5. Practice, practice, practice!

Get ready to participate!

Our trainings come alive with your participation and willingness to engage. Please be ready to participate in group discussions and share your experience, creativity, questions, and challenges with us. In particular, you will practice coaching skills with other participants (both as a coach and coachee). We'll share visual and verbal information, make time for group discussions, and create other opportunities for real-time participation.

This is a multi-day event. Please make sure you can attend all dates before registering! Before registering, make sure you are familiar with our cancellation policy.

Accessibility is very important to us! Closed captioning will be provided. If you require specific accommodations (for example, receiving screen-reader friendly versions of learning materials ahead of time), please notify us at least one week in advance of the scheduled offering by emailing workshops@compasspoint.org) so that we can do our best to meet your needs. ASL interpretation is not provided unless requested.
